From Rock ‘n Roll to psychedelia, from segregation to the summer of love and beyond.

To see a short video about the show, click here

Keith Slater has been a professional musician since 1981 when he toured the then flourishing cabaret clubs all over the country. Since then Keith has toured extensively around the British Isles. He has appeared on national TV and radio. Keith works regularly with Carl Chinn (Historian), Malcolm Stent, Don Maclean, and award winning bands Inheritance and Vivo where he sings, plays guitar, drums, violin, and harmonica… obviously not all at the same time! Alongside his busy touring schedule Keith has been successfully working in day centres and residential homes for the elderly and adults with learning disabilities, running music workshops as entertainment and therapy since 1991.

Last year Keith Slater performed his very successful Sinatra Celebration to a sell-out audience as part of Droitwich ArtsFest 2017.

If you want a meal at the hotel before the event, please make a reservation by calling the St Andrews Town Hotel on 01905 779 677.
Preferential room rates are available if you need overnight accommodation. State that you are attending Keith Slater’s 60s Celebration.

Mime and Improvisation Workshop on Wednesday 11th July, from 7pm to 9.30pm, at Spectrum Days, Old Coach Road

Cost: £5 for Members of Droitwich Arts Network. £10 for Non-members. No refunds unless the event is cancelled.
A maximum of 12 people can participate in this workshop.

To secure your place, click HERE to buy tickets for this event using a credit or debit card. You can pay by cash (no cards) on arrival.

If you experience any difficulty booking online, please email to: artsfest@droitwichartsnetwork.org .

The aim of this workshop is for people to come together, meet new people and have a lot of fun. Whether you’ve always enjoyed acting or have never tried it but would like to give something new a try then this is the evening for you. The session will be very relaxed and informal: we will start with a warm up and some drama based ice breakers. Following this we will do a number of fun and rewarding mime, improvisation and public speaking exercises both as a whole group and in smaller teams. The exercises will be designed to enhance confidence in the both the work place and in personal situations. We will also look at techniques to overcome nerves in situations such as job interviews, important meetings and any other circumstances which may be applicable to individuals.

Emily Hastings studied drama from a young age and undertook a number of LAMDA examinations including the ALAM where she obtained a diploma in 1997 which qualified her to teach drama privately. Emily also has a BA Hons degree in performing Arts (2003).  She has experience of working with children and adults in all areas of drama.

    Brine Memories

    10:30 -16:30
    18-07-14

Remembering the old Brine Baths – Victoria Square, Droitwich – Saturday 14th July from 10.30am. Outside the Heritage Centre

Share your memories with us … and we will share some pure and precious Droitwich Salt with you!

The town is very excited that we have permission to plan for new Brine Baths in the Lido Park, after a long campaign by SOBBs (Save Our Brine Baths). We at SOBBs are very conscious of how precious our heritage is – and we are embarking on a project to record some oral histories of people who used to work at the old Brine Baths or were regular users of them. The project will also involve working with schools in the area.
We would like to invite anyone with memories of the baths – maybe as a pool attendant, therapist, cleaner, administrator or as a patient or guest using the baths on a regular basis – to come and share a few of those memories with us at our stand on Saturday 14 July between 10.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. In return, we’ll tell you of our plans for the return of the Brine Baths and share with you some Droitwich Salt.

For more information, please contact Sue Webber on 01905 797778.
